This is a used Agilent G1971b APPI Source.
Atmospheric Pressure Photoionization (APPI) is an ionization technique compatible with all Agilent LCMS models, including single quadrupole, triple quadrupole, and QTOF instruments. In this process, the LC eluent is vaporized at atmospheric pressure using a heater. The vaporized gas then passes through a photon beam generated by a UV discharge lamp, which ionizes the gas molecules. PhotoMate APPI sources are instrumental in addressing critical chemical analysis challenges across various applications, including pharmaceuticals, environmental testing, food safety, petroleum, and biofuels.
