Thermo Scientific Sorvall Biofuge Primo R Centrifuge

The Thermo Scientific Sorvall Biofuge Primo R Centrifuge enables high-performance or small-capacity processing with optional rotors and accessories and top speeds up to 15,000 rpm. This compact, high-performance centrifuge offers efficient yet flexible sample processing. The Primo R features automatic rotor recognition and imbalance detection with uniform temperature control. This rotor reaches a maximum speed of 8,500 RPM.


The Primo R is ideal for small medical labs, biochemistry and molecular biological research, and routine analysis in industrial laboratories. Typical applications include sedimentation of cells (algae, yeast, bacteria, etc.), sedimentation of cell organelles and cell fragments, sample preparation of DNA and protein precipitates, blood, and urine analysis, and centrifugation of standard test series in microliter tubes.
